Well, here we are. It's now Christmas Eve, and where I live in Alaska, things seldom get more beautiful than what is right outside my window at this moment. A gorgeous blanket of undisturbed snow swaddles the Earth, and the trees glow with white frost on their branches. Not a cloud is in the sky, and the sun is shining (at least for the next 3 hours, anyway). This is the definition of a winter wonderland.
Now, not everybody lives in Alaska, nor does everybody get snow where they live. Heck, not everybody celebrates Christmas. But what everyone CAN do is celebrate the new year that is fast approaching. 2008 was a REALLY big year in general. We got what was probably the most charged political season in 15 years, a movie industry that bounced back strongly from the writer's strike, plenty of high profile game releases like Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet, and everything added up to make up a year where I'm not entirely sure where it all went.
2008 was when the Angel celebrated it's first anniversary, and while we've had some rocky times in 2008, we've come out the stronger for it. On behalf of all the staff and members of The Cruel Angel, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Welcome to the Shrine.
This is a site and forum devoted to certain games, built by fans, for fans. On this sitre, you will find things on Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts, Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, and Castlevania.
The Cruel Angel's Shrine is the companion site to our forum, The Cruel Angel's Lair.
The Cruel Angel began in October of 2006 as a small Final Fantasy and Castlevania fanclub on DeviantArt, but was plagued by numerous problems, most of all an inactive set of members. The Lair was established in June of 2007 as a remedy, and it also expanded the base of games to include Devil May Cry and Soul Calibur, and while initially successful, fell into the same problem. The DeviantArt club was closed indefinitely on December 1, 2007, and the Lair was dying a slow death even before that. Then, new life was brought to the Lair in February of 2008, when the site administrator became a member of the Anti-Chapel Castlevania forum. Through some shameless advertising and making a few friends, the Lair gained new members from that community. Since then, the whole of the Lair's members have been quite active, and this site has been created to help open new avenues for our members, as well as display some of the things that go on on the Lair. Since then, layout and main topics of the boards have changed somewhat every now and then, but the core spirit has never changed, and we hope it never does.
